A Little Priest from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by Steven Sondheim
I really love the back and forth between these two characters and it’s one of my favourite songs from a musical ever. But the original version had about 2 extra verses…which I know by heart too. Heh heh…
The Nutcracker Overture by Pyotr Il’yich Tchaikovsky
I know for a lot of people, the Nutcracker Overture would make them think about Christmas, but as a ballerina, it makes me think of my end of year performances. I, as of yet, have not had the joy to perform in ‘the Nutcracker’, but I hope I will soon.
The first time I heard this song was shortly after a close friend of mine passed away. The story was so close to what had happened, so I just cried. It still make me sad. But I really like this song, despite the personal history.
I’m sorry. I know EVERYONE is ripping on her, but I really don’t like this song. The lyrics are so bland and uninspired, and I find how stiff and robotic (not in the cool way) Rebecca is, just irritates me.
But, all that being said, I think with some vocal practice (and less AutoTune) and I bit more thought into lyrics (which I must admit, I have difficulty writing too), I think Rebecca Black could be a respectable performer.
I love this song so much! It reminds me a little of a Tim Burton Movie; dark yet sweet. It’s a shame it’s so short. I would love to do a dance with sudden light changes to this, or a music video about demon or something like that. Just so awesome! :D
